Friday, October 4th, 7pm  – First Friday Potluck!

Join us for a wonderful dinner with a spiritual component!

 
Sunday, October 6th, 10:30am – Interfaith Visit
Join us for our upcoming visit to the Quaker Meetinghouse in DC.  We’ll be attending their 10:30am worship service, and following the worship, there will be a short lecture about Quakerism, followed by Q&A. After that, we will have lunch with Kevin and other members of the Meetinghouse.
 
 
Sunday, October 13th, 12:45pm – Vegan Potluck 

Join the Ethical Eating Committee and Young Souls for a vegan potluck in Meridian Hill Park on Sunday, September 8. Meet in Pierce Hall after second service or join us in the Northeast corner of the park. All are welcome. Please bring a vegan dish or snack to share. The organizers will have some plates and utensils, but consider bringing your own to avoid creating excess trash. Bring a frisbee, game, ball, yoga mat, etc. if you’d like to stay and enjoy the park.

 

Wednesday, October 16th, 7pm  – All Souls Vespers Service

All Souls is currently planning to continue to Vespers services on the third Wednesday of each month at 7pm. Mark your calendars!

 

Sunday, October 20th, 12:45pm – All Souls Lunch 

Join the Young Souls and the larger church community for lunch in Pierce Hall after the second service.  Lunch is $7 (and free for visitors!).  If the weather’s nice, we’ll plan to gather and eat together in the courtyard. 

 

Saturday, October 26th, 9:30am – Gardening with Green Souls

The Green Souls have arranged for a group to tour and volunteer on the Farm on the last Saturday of the month, April-October 2013, from 9:30am-12:30pm. All ages welcome and no experience necessary!  Go to bit.ly/ASC-Farm for more information and to register.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS for our third annual Fall Retreat!  This year’s retreat is scheduled for September 13 – 15th at Shenandoah River State Park, VA.  Visit the retreat Facebook page for more info.  Registration is now live.  We have 40 spots for this year’s retreat – sign up soon so you don’t miss out.  Registration deadline is August 31st.

Thursday, August 8th, 8pm, Vespers Service
Vespers services are contemplative, candle-lit services that involve singing meditation, silence, poetry, and a chance to engage in your own spiritual practice if you choose. They are a great way to re-center yourself in the middle of the week, release anxiety, and deepen your spirit.

All Souls will partner with this local affordable housing organization to repaint the exterior and landscape the yard of one of their Columbia Heights properties. We’ll have work for people of all skill levels in painting and landscaping/gardening.

Sunday, June 16th, after service: All Souls Father’s Day Picnic

Come join the church’s annual Father’s Day picnic in the park. Rock Creek Park, Lot 1 @Tilden & Beach, across from Old Mill.  Check the weekly for more details.

The Green Souls have arranged for a group to tour and volunteer at the Farm on the last Saturday of the month, now through October. Thank you to everyone who has already signed up! As a volunteer, you eat for free (normally cost is $7)! Note that another All Souls-wide lunch is tentatively scheduled for April 7.

Monday, April 22, 7:00pm-9:00pm: WIN Earth Day Stormwater Jobs Action
Young Souls members will join Washington Interfaith Network members from every ward in the city to show our support for better storm-water management– we will encourage the city to support good/green jobs for residents, reduced storm water pollution in our waterways, and less flood-prone cities. Join YS and AS folks for a drink afterward.

Join the All Souls community for a Wednesday night service in the church sanctuary entitled “Resilience.” Vespers services include singing, meditation, silence, reflection, and spiritual practice and are led by Intern Minister Abbey Tennis. Musical help is needed for each service — come at 6 pm if you would like to join the choir or play an instrument for the service!
